On August 25th, AVSS workshops will take place at the Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Expolitation (IOSB).

** NOTIFICATION **

Conference attendees will be able to choose between five workshops in three parallel tracks:

  • Track 1: Traffic Surveillance and Vehicle Surveillance
  • Track 2: Activity Recognition and Tracking
  • Track 3: Border Control and Biometrics


In the evening of August 25th, a welcome reception will take place at the Presidential Building of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (main conference site).


On August 26th, the main conference opens the doors, starting with a welcome speech by the general chairs Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Beyerer and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rainer Stiefelhagen.

As a first highlight, we are looking forward for the first key-note talk held by Prof. Shaogang Gong of Queen Mary University of London.

After the first oral session of the conference, in the afternoon of August 26th the 2nd Industrial Surveillance Day will take place.

On August 27th, the second day of the main conference starts with a further highlight. We are happy to welcome the second key-note speaker Prof. Michael J. Black, director at Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen.

Also, two oral sessions with seven talks in total are planned, as well as the first poster session presenting 20 conference papers.

On August 28th, the final day of the conference, we are very happy to announce the thirs key-note speaker, Dr. Josh P. Davis, from the University of Greenwich.

Also, two oral sessions with eight talks in total are planned, as well as the second poster session, presenting 18 conference papers.
